No referral is needed to consult an orthodontist.

What is an orthodontist?
An orthodontist is a dentist who has 3 three years of comprehensive full time training in a program recognized by the American Dental Association and has been a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Quebec.
An orthodontist specializes only in orthodontics: there are no cleanings, tooth extractions or other dental treatments. All orthodontists are dentists. A dentist can do orthodontics and many treat some cases.
