Orthodontics for Adolescents

An overall orthodontic treatment is done when there is presence of all the permanent teeth. It may be preceded or not, by a first phase of treatment (for children). The overall orthodontic treatment may include fixed and removable appliances. Orthodontic brackets, commonly called “braces”, act as handles on the teeth. The straight orthodontic wires move the “crooked” teeth to better align them.

The duration of the orthodontic treatment depends on

  • The severity of the problem
  • The Patient’s age
  • The patient’s cooperation
  • The patient’s attendance to appointments
  • La sévérité du problème
  • L’âge du patient
  • La coopération du patient
  • La présence du patient au rendez-vous
